The history of the Nowogrodzka Street is linked to the existence of the Nowogrodzka settlement, which emerged possibly already in the 15th century. Following its removal in 1791 by virtue of the Act on the Law on the Cities, the settlement became part of Warsaw. However, it only truly developed in mid-19th century with the opening of the Warsaw-Vienna railway. Populated with modern and eclectic structures, Nowogrodzka has for the most part still retained its original character of a narrow street with apartment houses.
